

Fall 2014 Scholarship Winner
The US STEM Foundation awarded Rebecca Wescott, a senior at Virginia Tech, a $1,000 academic scholarship. Ms. Wescott is a graduate of Battlefield High School in Haymarket, Virginia where she was a member of Team 1885 iLite Robotics. She currently serves as a graduate mentor for Team 1885 and coached their Chairman's Award students. US STEM is pleased to recognize Rebecca for her academic performance, her contributions to STEM Education and her support of student programs. #L


IROC 2014
The US STEM Foundation subsidized and organized the 2014 ILITE Off-season Robotics Competition. Based on the Spring 2014 US FIRST FRC game, this competition had over 300 students from 17 high schools across three states and district participating. The teams played over 60 qualification rounds. This event serves as a tune-up and introduction to robotics prior to the 2014 season. This year's winners were Team 339 Kilroy Robotics from Stafford/Spotsylvania, VA and Team 612 Chant


DC United STEM Night
US FIRST of DC, DC United, Leidos and the US STEM Foundation held a STEM Night on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at RFK Stadium. Four area high schools brought their FRC robots to the pitch at RFK stadium and demonstrated their capabilities. The event coordinated by Don Brobst of US FIRST DC Office exposed DC area students and parents to technology and gave children the opportunity to interact with the students and their creations.
